Our Story

It started with an expired Bumble match.

We matched at the start of 2022. On Bumble the girl has 24 hours to send the first message or the match expires, and Simran let the clock run out. Then Bumble gave Will a free redo, the notification popped up on Simran's phone, and this time she wrote first.

We got engaged three years later, on Valentine's Day 2025. Simran was living in South Dakota for a two-month clinical rotation for PA school, and Will made the trip out to see her. In the Badlands, in absolutely freezing weather, he asked. Simran had no idea it was coming. It was the best day we've had yet.

Now we're getting married in Lincoln, and we can't wait to celebrate with you.

What to wear

We are having an Indian-American fusion wedding, and we would love for both cultures to be represented. Guests are welcome to wear Indian or American formal attire. Whether that's a saree, lehenga, sherwani, kurta, suit, or formal dress, we want you to wear what makes you feel your best.

We encourage you to have fun with color, culture, and your personal style.

Please avoid these colors

  • White
  • Red
  • Maroon

Please do not wear white, red, or maroon. These colors are reserved for the bride and groom.

Travel

Both the ceremony and the reception are at Venue 5 Twenty-Two in south Lincoln, which has its own parking lot. Out-of-town guests should fly into Omaha's Eppley Airfield (OMA). It's about an hour's drive to Lincoln, with plenty of rental cars at the airport.

Questions

When should I RSVP by?

Please RSVP by May 30, 2027 so we can finalize numbers with the venue. If your plans change before then, just submit the form again and we'll use your latest response.

What should I wear?

It's an Indian-American fusion wedding, and both cultures are welcome on the dance floor. Wear Indian or American formal attire, whichever makes you feel your best: a saree, lehenga, sherwani, kurta, suit, or formal dress. Have fun with color and personal style.

Please avoid white, red, and maroon. Those colors are reserved for the bride and groom.

I've never been to a Hindu wedding. What should I expect?

You'll be in good company. The ceremony takes place under a mandap, a canopy where the couple sits with the priest and their families. You'll see the exchange of garlands and the seven steps around the sacred fire, each step carrying its own blessing. Guests simply watch and enjoy. It runs about an hour, and lunch follows.

What happens between lunch and the reception?

Lunch follows the ceremony, and the reception starts at 6:00 PM. In between, the afternoon is yours. Rest up at the hotel or check out a few of our favorite Lincoln spots below.

Can I bring a plus-one?

Due to our limited guest count, we are only able to accommodate the guests specifically listed on each invitation. Plus-ones will be included on the invitation for those who are invited to bring one.

Are kids welcome?

We love your little ones, but we kindly ask that only children of close family and friends of the bride and groom attend our wedding. Thank you so much for understanding and helping us celebrate our special day.

What's on the menu?

Lunch and dinner details are still being finalized. We'll update this page once the menu is set. If you have an allergy or dietary need, there's a spot for it on the RSVP form and we'll make sure you're taken care of.

Is there parking at the venue?

Yes. Venue 5 Twenty-Two has its own parking lot, free for guests, for both the ceremony and the reception.

Where should I stay?

We're setting up a hotel room block now and will post the hotel and booking code here as soon as it's ready.

Will you join us?

Please respond by May 30, 2027 so we can save you a seat.
